Dr. Ferry Koster is Associate Professor of Labor, Organization, and Management at the department of Sociology of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Besides that, he is a researcher at the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies of the University of Amsterdam and a guest researcher of the research program Social Security Reform of Leiden University.

His empirical research includes the cross national comparison of formal policies and individual attitudes, the comparative study of organizations, and organizational behavior. A general theme across these studies is the question to what extent and how social context relates to individual outcomes.

Apart from these theoretical and empirical investigations, he is interested in their practical implications and how to make the results accessible to the public. Work in progress in this direction involves the development of a Solidarity Scan for policy makers and organizational consultancy using experimental research designs. Together with Paul de Beer he is the founder of (Re)analyse.
